Freshman Study Skills
This course is designed to help students transition from middle school to high school. The students will explore different learning styles and personal strengths and weaknesses. First semester topics include organizational skills, time management, reading texts, note taking, test taking strategies, record keeping and goal setting. Second semester concentrates on developing the critical thinking skills of questioning, observing, analyzing, problem solving and evaluating outcomes. This course meets twice in a six day cycle and is required for all freshman. It is graded in conjunction with English 9.

Study Skills
This course emphasizes learning skills for success. Students explore personal academic strengths and weaknesses, learning styles, and strategies for success in their courses. Topics include time management, listening and note taking study habits, reading textbooks, concentration, test preparation and anxiety, and effective use of school library resources. This course is designed for students in their sophomore, junior or senior year.
