The “Summa” program will accommodate specially
gifted and advanced students, offering a program of
challenging and accelerated honors courses that will help
them to prepare for a successful college career.
Students need to commit to an intensive course of
honors level classes during the freshman year. After the
completion of their first semester, students who have a
3.75 GPA and are enrolled in the required honors courses
will be acknowledged as having met the criteria for the
Summa Cum Laude program.
Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.75 in
order to remain in the program. No semester grade shall
fall below a C.
To receive the Summa Cum Laude Diploma a student must successfully complete:
At any subsequent time, should a course be taken that is below the required level, the student will forfeit his or her place in the program. Should a student be dropped from the program or decide to withdraw, the student may not re-enter the Summa Cum Laude program.
