SENIOR PARENTS – This is a scholarship source that just opened up for our seniors.

We are very pleased to announce the availability of the Rapier Educational Foundation Scholarship on our website.  The application can be found on our website at San Antonio Area Foundation.  The first link in the middle of this page will lead you to a list of scholarships.  Search for Rapier.  The deadline for this scholarship is February 15th, 2012.  This is an online application process and students will be required to register. Students are required to provide the name and email address of their recommender on the application.  To download the application click here.  The application and supplemental documents must be sent to the address listed and must be received by the due date.

Rapier Educational Foundation:  Students must live in a county served by WellMed Medical Management who will attend a two- or four-year accredited college, university or vocational/technical school in the United States, and have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Financial need will be considered but is not the sole determining factor.  Student must be graduating from high school in 2012 or be in enrolled in college.  It is only available for undergraduate students.

  •  Florida counties include: Brevard, Hillsborough, Indian River, Lake, Martin, Orange, Osceola, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Seminole, Sumter, and St.Lucie.

Last year, for this scholarship alone, we distributed 53 scholarships to students living in Florida and Texas.  The scholarship is a $2,000 award to be split equally for the fall and spring semesters.  It is renewable for 3 additional years as long as the student is an undergraduate student who has a 2.5 GPA and is attending school full-time.

Please feel free to share and forward my email and contact information with your students, parents or other interested parties who meet the criteria of the scholarship.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

 Best wishes,
